I had pitched a book idea at the KGAF Open Book Pitch Contest. The good news is that I am one of the 39 selected! I owe much of this success to Sulekha for creating the forum that let me experiment with my writing and of course, to all my blogger friends, who took the time to read and offer valuable comments on all my posts. Congratulations to all the other Sulekha bloggers who won!!

Details of the KGAF Open Book Pitch Contest are right here-

"The Caferati Book Pitch 2008 contest has worked out far better than we could have hoped.  First, we got all those big names to be scouts for this experiment.  Then, we got 152 book pitches.  And -- this is the truly delightful part -- 39 of those pitches are "winners"; i.e. they have at least one publisher or agent interested in taking things further.

We will be announcing the author names and book titles of all the successful book pitches at:

   Contests Night
   The David Sassoon Library Garden
   8:00pm onwards, 10th February, 2008

The successful authors, the winning titles and blurbs for their books, and the names of the publishers who have chosen them will also be posted at the following URL:

Mine is 'She's a Jolly Good Fellow', entry No. 969, Sajita Nair.

Title - She's a Jolly Good Fellow

Blurb - When Second Lieutenant Deepa Krishnan embarks on a career in the Army, she confronts a lurking enemy - the chauvinistic mindset of an all male workforce. Every day is a challenge as she must use her wit and courage to protect her individuality and dignity.
